Nanadamuri  Balakrishna fresh from the success of Simha in 2010 entered 2011 with his 'Parama Veera Chakra' in Dasari Narayana Rao's direction. Contrary to the huge expectations that it will be another 'Bobbili Puli' in his chequered career just like his father great NTR,the film proved to be a disaster at box office. Going into his shell he regained his lost prestige daring to be different doing 'Sri Rama Rajyam' under Bapu direction proving once again he is the only one in the present heroes who's capable enough to don the roles of Lord Rama, Krishna just like his father.

King Nagarjuna is known for his experimentation with storylines. He continued to do so with 'Ragada' not crossing borderline in 2010. He starred in an action flick sans heroine in bilingual 'Gaganam/Payanam' which won accolades of many but failed to connect with the mass viewers. He became savior of telangana people as 'Rajanna' that hit the screens a week back where he won rave reviews of critiques. His innovation can be seen in 'Rajanna' also where he makes his appearance just before interval.

'Poola Rangadu' Box office report

Poola Rangadu with Sunil and Isha chawla as the main lead is creating collection Storm. This movie directed by Veerabhadram and music by Anoop Rubens has collected almost around 6 crore in the first 3 days and created a record in Sunil career. Movie which was released with 450 theaters is going strong right from the first day with postive talk.

Poola Rangadu was mainly targeted on Mass and the cost of the movie is expected to be less than 10 crore and as of now the movie seems to have got all the money invested back by considering the satellite rights and audio rights. According to the trade people by considering the collections as of now Poolarangadu is going strong and expected to collect more than 15 crore.       

Vel Records holds the 'Dammu' Audio rights

Young Tiger Jr NTR starrer 'Dammu' movie audio will be launched on March 23 for Ugadhi in three major cities of Andhra pradesh simultaneously. News is that Vel Records owned by keeravani's wife srivalli has bagged the 'Dammu' audio rights. M M Keeravani is the music director for this film.

Dammu is currently being shot in Pollachi and the unit is in a way to finish this schedule by 24th of this month. Trisha and Karthika are the female leads in this film. Boyapati Srinu is directing this movie under the Creative Commercials banner produced by KS Rama Rao and Alexander Vallabha.

Dammu is touted to be a mass action entertainer and it is slated for release in April, 2012.  

Nitin 'Ishq' got 'U/A' Certificate

Nitin, who desperately waiting for a success is acting as a main lead in a love story titled 'Ishq'. This movie is slated for release on February 24. This film’s censor was done and has been awarded U/A certificate by the censor board. This film is a romantic love youthful action entertainer.     

Nithya Menon is playing the romantic interest of Nitin in Ishq. The film is produced under Shresth Movies banner, while Multi dimension Entertainments Pvt Ltd are presenting it. Anoop Rubens has scored the music and PC Sriram handled the camera for Ishq. Srikar Prasad is the editor. 

Ajay, Sindhu Tolani, Nagineedu, Sudha, Satya Krishnan, etc are playing important roles in this film. 13B fame Vikram kumar is the director for this different love story.    

'Facebook' release on Mar 30

Music director turned director RP Patnaik's latest venture 'Facebook' has got a release date. The movie is going to hit the screens on March 30. It has completed its shooting part and currently post production work is progressing at brisk pace in Hyderabad. At present DTS mixing work is going on.

Jr. NTR is Badshah!

NTR Jr. is currently busy with Dammu movie which is gearing up for summer release. Boyapati Srinu is the director of this film. Trisha and Karthika are playing female leads. Dammu is expected to be one of the biggest hits of this year.

NTR will start working for Srinu Vytla’s film soon after he is done with Dammu. Srinu Vytla and his writers team have almost completed the script. They are giving final touches to it. Kajal Agarwal will pair up with NTR in it.

Director Srinu Vytla is considering Badshah title for this film as the title sounds powerful as well as catchy. The buzz says that even NTR is happy with the title. Official announcement regarding the title is awaited.

Poola Rangadu Review – Sunil Movie

Poola Rangadu Review – Poola RangaduTelugu Movie Review, Rating, Poola Rangadu Film Review: Sunil, who turned into full fledged hero after Maryada Ramanna, stopped playing comedian roles.Poola Rangadu is his latest movie as the lead. Sunil’s films are always known for comedy and superb dances. Poola Rangadu caught the attention of audiences with Sunil’s six pack abs. Expectedly the film took a stunning opening and here is the review in detail…

Story:
Ranga (Sunil) buys 30 acres land, which is surrounded by the 300 acres lands of Kondareddy (Dev Gill) and Lala Goud (Pradeep Rawath). They want that thirty acre land to build a canal and when they comes to know that it was bought by someone they start searching for him to kill him and grab that land. After knowing that he was caught in a soup, Ranga joins Konda Reddy group as his follower and waits for the time to convey him that he has bought that 30 acre land. Meanwhile, Lala Goud’s daughter Anitha (Isha Chawla) fall in love with Ranga. But Konda Reddy wants to marry her and now Ranga has a critical job on hands to have his hands on his land as well as to marry Anitha.

Analysis:

Poola Rangadu is a typical mass masala potboiler with all the commercial ingredients incorporated needed for winning the box office. The plot has striking resemblance to Sunil’s Maryada Ramanna, but the treatment is different here.

There are ample comedy scenes which would work with the mass audience. The director made sure that it reaches the target audience. The comedy and scenes may not impress the city audience, but Poola Rangadu is not made for them.

If the content offers what masses need, Sunil shoulders the film with his screen presence and sensational dances. First half is racy with funny scenes and Sunil dances. Second half is also good until the penultimate scenes. It has been dragged in the climax scenes, which isn’t necessary.

However, climax fight with Sunil’s six-pack will surprise the audience. On a whole, Poola Rangadu is a good commercial entertainer and has enough to rule the box office, especially in mass centers.

Performances:

Sunil is usual with his comic timing and performance. His dances are electrifying and will definitely play big role in making this film a hit. Lot of hard work is put in by him. Sunil with six pack abs provides the necessary shock factor for the film.

Isha Chawla is strictly average. Dev Gill is Okay as the baddie. Pradeep Rawat is also not bad as the bad man with a good heart. Ali is good. Raghu Babu brings few laughs. Remaining star cast does their bit.

Technicalities:

Anup Ruben’s music is passable. Sunil makes all the songs work on the screen with his terrific dances. Background score is just fine. Editing could have been better. Cinematography is neat. Dialogues are good in parts. Production values are impressive.

Director Veera Bhadram has a good command over making comedy films that works with the masses. He did well in getting the commercial formula right.

Final Word:

Poola Rangadu is a film made for B and C centers and it would be lapped up by them for sure, thanks to Sunil. Watch it for Sunil’s dances and for some entertainment.
