Samantha out of SVSC?

The makers of Venkatesh and MaheshBabu’s Seethamma Vakitlo Sirimalle Chettu are now facing a hurdle in the form of Samantha, says film nagar circles. The film which was earlier slated to hit the floors in December is again postponed to January 18 due to lack of dates from Samantha.

The actress who is currently very busy shooting for Naga Chaitanya’s Auto Nagar SuryaGautam Menon’s trilingual film is unable to adjust her call sheets to the shooting date of SVSC. Meanwhile, she has agreed to do a film with Ram Charan titled Yevadu to be produced by Dil Raju.

Hence, the makers of this Venky-Mahesh starrer are having a second thought of replacingSamantha with another heroine opposite Mahesh Babu. Previously, the makers struggled to finalise a heroine opposite Venkatesh as none of the top actress have turned up to play sister-in-law (vadina) to Mahesh. We have to wait for an official confirmation to know more about this story.

The makers are trying to finalize the heroine of the film and already started searching for a right face opposite Bunny as per the script of the film. Thaman has been roped in as music director of Lover. This is going to be his first project with Bunny.

Sonu Sood shocks Trivikram and Danayya

Versatile actor Sonu Sood who won accolades for his roles in films likeArundathiEk NiranjanKandireega andDookudu gave a shock to Trivikram Srinivas and Danayya recently. Currently, Trivikram is directing a new film with Stylish Star Allu Arjun in the lead role under the production of Danayya. The makers have approached Sonu Sood for a villain role and got a go ahead nod from him.

The surprising thing is that Sonu Sood has quoted a whopping Rs 80 lakh as his remuneration to feature in this film. However, producer Danayya has left with no option than to pay him the quoted amount for a call sheet of 50 days for this film.

The movie is in the news for all the good reasons as both Trivikram and Allu Arjun have slashed their remunerations. Not only that, Trivikram has come up with a bounded script for the first time for this film and is set to complete the shooting in less than 3 months.

Veedinthe Movie Review

Veedinthe Review – Veedinte Movie Review, Rating, Rajapattai Tamil Movie: Chiyaan Vikram plays to the galleries this time taking a break from his unusual characters like Nanna. Veedinthe is a commercial potboiler which glorifies the hero right from the start to end. It may please Vikram mass fans in Tamilnadu. Does it go down well with our audience? Read on…

Story:

Fire Shankar (Vikram) is a gym boy who aspires to become a bi villain in films. He bumps into an old man Dakshina Murthy (K Vishwanadh), who runs an orphanage. His own son (Avinash) is after him to grab that property to his political benefits. He is supported by Ranga Nayaki a.k.a. Akka (Sana), a political party leader. Now Shankar turns savior to Murthy and the orphanage. Rest of the story is about how Shankar fights with Akka and her right hand Mustafa (Pradeep Rawat).

Analysis:

Director Suseenthiran made debut in Tamil with Vennila Kabaddi Kuzhu which was later remade in Telugu as Bheemili Kabaddi Jattu in under Satya’s direction. His second film in Tamil is Naan Mahaan Alla with Karthi and Kajal. It was dubbed into Telugu as Naa Peru Shiva and did well.

With this track record, Suseenthiran raised hopes over Rajapattai (Veedinthe Tamil title) as he has an actor like Vikram by his side. Sadly, Suseenthiran didn’t try to utilize the ‘actor’ Vikram, but instead banked on the ‘star’ VikramVeedinthe is a commercial potboiler with so called mass masala elements.

Story is very thin and utterly predictable. Director tried to entertain the audience through Vishwanadh’s character in the first half and succeeded to an extent. Second half is completely action based and boredom is guaranteed. Only Vikram and Vishwanadh are the saving grace in this routine masala movie.

Performances:

Vikram is good as the lead man. He has worked out well to suit the character. Watch out for his hand to hand fight with Pradeep Rawat. He is as sincere and dedicated as ever. He donned various getups too. Deesksha Seth is confined to the first hour. She is hardly seen in the second hour. She did an Okay job.

K. Vishwanadh is a revelation. He usually plays respectable old man kind of roles. This movie shows the lighter side of the legendary director. He walked away with all the laurels. Sana is fine as cold blooded politician. Pradeep Rawat is apt. Avinash and others did their job.

Technicalities:

Songs by Yuvan Shankar Raja are a big letdown. Except for Laddu laddu none of the songs entertains. Background score is fine though. Editing is neat and cinematography is good. Action part is over the top. Direction by Suseenthiran is neat, but he should have written a strong script to make use of Vikram’s caliber. Good opportunity got wasted on a poor script.

Final Word:

Veedinthe has nothing to offer except for a couple of funny scenes on Vikram-Vishwanadh-Deeksha. Watch it if you got nothing better to do.

Kshetram Movie Review

Kshetram Review – Kshetram Movie Review, Rating, Telugu Movie: Priyamani, who has been running through a rough patch, tried to get back to form with Arundhati kind of role in Kshetram.Jagapathi Babu played a special role in it. Did Kshetram live up to Priyamani’s expectations? Read on…

Story:

Narasimha Rayalu (Jagapathi Babu) and Lakshmi (Priyamani) dies in the hands of their own people (Aditya Menon, Kota Srinivasa Rao) when they try to bring Lord Lakshmi Narasimha’s idol from forest to the temple. If they do so, the trust money would be distributed to the poor people in that area. So Narasimha and Lakshmi are killed and Lakshmi’s soul lingers around until Sohani (Priyamani) comes to marry Chakri (Shyam), who is the reincarnated form of Narasimha. Lakshmi’s soul gets into Sohani and fulfills her husband desire by killing all the evildoers.

Analysis:

The plot of this movie is good enough to be a commercial film which would work with the masses. However, the bad execution has been the biggest flaw. Screenplay of the film is absolutely pathetic. Director failed to bring out the right emotions in many scenes.

Most part of the film looks like a television serial with bad shot making and poor production values. Even the presence of Jagapathi Babu and Priyamani didn’t help much. Their characters are badly written and the worst part is Jagapathi Babu looked out of place in this movie.

His so called powerful dialogues ended up as comedic stuff and Priyamani really didn’t get a chance to lift the spirits up. Climax is hurried and absolute nonsense after all the unnecessary build up that is given until then.

Performances:

Priyamani is just Okay and Jagapathi Babu looked weak in a powerful role. Aditya Menon is regular and Kota is routine. Rajiv Kanakala is wasted and Brahmanandam is seen in a couple of scenes. Tanikella Bharani is surprisingly loud in this movie. There are so many actors in Kshetram and none of them really made any impact.

Technicalities:

Dialogues are average and lyrics are in sync with the theme. Songs are pretty bad and background music is not up to the mark. Cinematography and Editing have nothing to talk about.

Director Venu Gopal tried to imitate Arundhati and Chandramukhi, which is definitely not needed for this film. He didn’t even succeed in getting 10% out of those films. His inability in narrating the story is evident throughout the film. He failed to bring out the right emotions in very important scenes. Climax scenes are enough to highlight his weaknesses as a director. An able director could have made this film work.

Final Word:

Kshetram is targeted at the C center crowds and they may like few scenes. On a whole everyone would be disappointed with this amateurish film. Kshetram is a rare film which has nothing to rave about including the performances.
